I want to get my bluetooth keyboard (Anker Bluetooth handheld Keyboard – Model: KP-810-10BTT) up on running in XBMC running on my Raspberry Pi.
I have a few SD cards that I am running different operating systems on – I currently have Raspian Wheezy, OpenElec, Pidora, and RaspBMC running.
This post will only address the problems I had in Raspbmc:
I was having a lot of problems getting my Bluetooth keyboard setup to work on my Raspberry Pi and XBMC, there is an amazing tutorial here that gives all of the steps needed to get Bluetooth working on your RPi. When I ran through the steps to get it working, it always died at the step where you need to install Bluetooth, Bluez-Utils and Blueman. I got the following errors:
update-rc.d: error: insserv rejected the script header dpkg: error processing bluez (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of bluetooth: bluetooth depends on bluez; however: Package bluez is not configured yet. dpkg: error processing bluetooth (--configure): dependency problems - leaving unconfigured Errors were encountered while processing: bluez bluetooth E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
In my search I found this post, which details someone trying to get their PS3 remote up and running but were getting the same errors as I was. I ran the following:
sudo update-rc.d -f dbus defaults
And then ran:
apt-get install bluetooth bluez-utils blueman
And lo and behold, everything installed without throwing any errors at all!
I could then run the steps in step by step guide listed above and my keyboard was recognized and worked in both the command line and XBMC.
I am now having a problem when rebooting: It doesn’t auto-connect to the keyboard, so I have to use my wired keyboard to run the above commands to get the bluetooth keyboard working again.
Oh well, time to figure that one out now. 🙂
